First Day of School

Sam and Tyler had their first day back at school last week and they were so excited. Sam is doing another pre-K year again due to his late September birthday keeping him out of kindergarten for this year (which I think is a positive thing). Tyler is starting up as a 'yellow bird', a class Sam was in not too long ago. Both boys donned 'button shirts' and nice shorts, to Sam's dismay, but were able to put on big smiles for the camera.

Going For a Boat Ride

Well, not really a boat, this is a game that Tyler and Sam made up where Sam takes Tyler on a 'boat' ride and they pretend to be pirates. By the time they 'docked' Tyler was saying, "aaargh, matey!"

Swimming Laps

Tyler has finally decided to take breaths during his lap swimming which makes me much more relaxed with him in the pool. No more gasping for breaths when he emerges from the water, now he is able to swim almost the entire length of the pool! And Sam is doing some side breathing and great arms in his freestyle, go boys!

Swimming on a Tuesday Afternoon

Sam and Tyler are quickly becoming very good swimmers. Marta is now taking them to the jacuzzi for afternoon swimming and this is where I found them today. Here you can see Tyler swimming and jumping to Sam, which Sam is just loving!

First BDAY Party

We went to our friend, Sage's, first birthday party and had a nice time swimming and eating chocolate chip pancakes and cupcakes. Here you can see the boys really trying to keep themselves clean, thank goodness they could just jump right back into the pool to clean off.

Beach Balls Galore

The Botanical Garden really tries to encourage visitors of all ages. As a result, they have filled their water falls and water features with beach balls and every young visitor can enjoy splashing in the pools, especially on a hot summer day. We did just that, probably should have worn our bathing suits!

Picnic at the Botanical Garden

We also had fun playing with beach balls in the fountains at the Botanical Garden, and running through the tunnels and relaxing on our picnic blanket. After our picnic lunch, we played some soccer and frisbee in the 100 degree heat and then bought fresh pears at the farmer's market in the parking lot...the boys absolutely loved it!
