The Ham Express

Here is the famous pig racing in Poteet! Let's just say, we were all speechless...and very happy we keep kosher. Enjoy!

Strawberries...and Pigs...

What strawberry festival wouldn't be complete without the Ham Express? That is right, a traveling pig racing trailer! This was a first for us kosher, non-Texans...and perhaps our last.

Poteet Strawberry Festival

We ventured to the town of Poteet, population 3000, last weekend to enjoy the Strawberry Festival. Sadly, we saw very few strawberries, but lots of places to spend money on strawberry inspired foods, like shortcake, ice cream, margaritas and on and on...There was even an eagle and other raptors on display, and lots of farm animals.

Jon's Visit

Jon came to San Antonio on his way to a conference in Dallas and spent a lovely, albeit rainy, weekend with us enjoying the circus, the fiesta celebration downtown and even a dive bar. Here you see Jon and I trying to sell some of grandpa's jewels at the school festival, and Jon kicking my butt in Boggle (I think he has definitely been practicing)!

The Festival

A few more circus pictures...and Tyler having a great time. Tyler was actually very excited about Sam's role in the circus, even practicing the 'flying' with him every morning before school. Tyler also enjoyed some solo time in the bouncie, and donning a sombrero.

The Parrot

Sam had a great time preparing for his debut in the preschool circus, where he played the parrot. His big role was getting to eat a cracker, an achievement only attained by the parrot and the kangaroo. To say that Sam was excited about it would be an understatement!

Heintz Preschool CIrcus

Sam was a star last weekend (or at least a parrot) for his school 'circus'. He didn't have any speaking lines, but squawked very well, and ate a cracker with such grace. We are so proud!

Caps for Sale

Sam and Tyler have really been getting along quite famously recently. Here is Sam reading a book to Tyler. Tyler is very attentive, and Sam is actually not missing much in his own rendition of the story. Very nice moments shared together...

Tyler Leading the Seder

Here is Tyler leading his very own Seder for the first night of Passover. He is very involved in the reading of the Passover story. Watch out, Grandpa, some real competition.

The Four Questions

Sam really practiced his Four Questions this year and was so excited to demonstrate his abilities to the Passover crowd. Tyler wanted to join in on Sam's rendition as well...I think he has the first question down pat. Great job, Sam.

Passover Seder

Sam and Tyler joined the rest of our family (minus the North Carolina contingent) for Passover Seder in Boston. Good times...

Sam Reading the Passover Story with Cynie and Lee

Sam had some special time with Aunt Cynnie and Uncle Lee at Tyler's party showing off his Hagaddah that he made from school.
