Reading to Tyler

We found the greatest books at our beach house, Mo Willems, and his stories of pigs and elephants, two unlikely best friends. Here is Sam reading to Tyler who is always eager to have his big brother read to him.

Playing on the Beach

The boys loved the beach. Every minute if we were not on the beach, we were talking about the beach, the waves, the body surfing, the crab searching, the sand castles. Here are some nice shots of the boys on the beach, really loving every minute of it. We even spent a lovely afternoon with our cousins, Debbie and David and Jenn.

The Tree

There was a great tree jetting out from the back patio which the boys climbed morning and evening. We just don't have trees like that in Texas. We also enjoyed eating under the tree, here we enjoyed a Friday afternoon lunch with Polina, Grisha and Michelle.

Hanging at "Home"

Here are a sampling of pictures of our home in Manhattan Beach. We played with all of the toys in the house, legos, star wars, balls, bikes, books and lots of other items. We enjoyed pop tarts and time with Dr. Bess.

Hermosa Beach

Here we are just fresh off of the airplane and luckily we landed on the most beautiful beach ever, Hermosa Beach. We ate lunch out by the beach and then enjoyed climbing on a surfer and watches the real surfing from the pier.

Hollywood!!!

The Piesmans take on Hollywood and Venice Beach. We visited the skate park in Venice and then enjoyed the afternoon in Hollywood.

Lizards and Friends

Sam is obsessed with lizards. Let us just say that he LOVES lizards. His all-time favorite activity is waking up and going outside to our "lizard" tree and hunting for lizards, then he goes out before bed and hunts again. Our newest pet is a praying mantis that Sam kept for the last 3 days and just let back into the wild tonight after helping it feast on 3 flies. We really are living the Nature Channel here in San Antonio!!
