Prior to the last day of 2009, we decided to take a family field trip to the Johnson City Exotic Zoo, a piece of land about 60 minutes north of San Antonio, which has become home to deer, llama, bison, camel, ostrich, zebra, lemurs, and many other animals. Luckily we and the Mets and the Friedmans were the only ones out on our 'safari', so we really had a very unique experience. Here you see the bisons who have VERY large and adept tongues and then you can see the camels who really like to get VERY close to the food, even reaching their necks into the tour vans. Suffice it to say, we had a great time.
