July 4th BBQ

Tyler had his first ice cream in a cone today (with jimmies). He loved it!!! We had a lovely time at our friend's house for a swim and a BBQ. Great fun!

Well, Tyler is really the ultimate little brother. From the time he wakes up in the morning, to the moment that his head hits his crib, all he can talk about is "Sammy". He copies everything that Sam says and does and tries to sell it as his own. Sam is such a good big brother, really taking it all in stride. At times he gets a little upset about the copying, but remembers how fun it is to have one another. Here is Sam trying to show off his hopping prowess, and then Tyler doing the same.

Goofing Around

On Thursdays, both Sam and Tyler go to camp and are forced to wear this hideously bright green fluorescent camp shirt (that they love)! Here they are, after dinner, just relaxing and making some jokes.

Digs in Iraq

Here is a video showing my CHU. It's slightly bigger compared to the last deployment, and has an attached bathroom that I have to share (and clean) with my neighbor. It's not too bad and beats going outside to the bathroom and to shower.

Sam Feeling More Confident

Well, Sam spent a good deal of time hugging the walls of the rink, but as he got more confident he ventured into the middle and even crossed the rink a few times (which wasn't great for all of the speedy skaters around him). In the end, he we both had a great time and are really looking forward to our next skate.

Sam's First Ice Skating Experience

Sam and I had a special date today and went ice skating. Sam was quite the champ, frustrated at first and then very excited to come back again. Great job, Sam!
